Day One - December 11 - The time has finally come! Off we go to spend the week in Grapevine, Texas and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. We will fly into Dallas and arrive in time for an afternoon tour of the city. After experiencing everything “Dallas”, we make the short journey into Grapevine. Dinner is at a local favorite steakhouse. This evening’s entertainment is some of the best in the industry - The Texas Tenors! They will serenade us with their country Christmas charm. Welcome to Texas!

Day Two - December 12 - We rise and shine and head off this morning on a tour of the Historic Nash Farm. You’ll feel like we have been transported back to the late 19th century as we tour this historic property. You will see the original 1869 farmhouse, historic barns, and learn about the heritage livestock raised here. Then we will get to explore Grapevine as we take a guided tour around this charming city. Lunch will be at Harvest Hall - a 20,000 square-foot food and entertainment destination. With dining options that display all different tastes, cultures, and countries, everyone is sure to find something they will enjoy.
In the afternoon, we head to the Grapevine Observation Tower. Ride 150 feet in the air and see all the points of interest in Grapevine and the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Learn about the history of Grapevine as you look out onto the city. The rest of our afternoon will be spent doing some shopping and wine tasting. Now it is off to our evening dinner show. Immerse yourself in an award-winning 90-minute murder mystery dinner theater performance set in the 1880s of the wild west of Texas. Test your investigation skills and solve the murder mystery. The Texas Star Dinner Theater and their production of an Old West Christmas Mystery will have us laughing and solving clues all evening. Finally - what better way to end a day in December than looking at beautiful holiday light displays. The Prairie Lights offers a beautiful walk-through display that will dazzle us.

Day Three - December 13 - Today we are heading to nearby Fort Worth for the day. There is nothing more iconic than the Fort Worth Stockyards Cattle Drive - and we will get to experience this daily event. Watch the longhorn cattle as they move across the stockyards. There is time for lunch and shopping at some of the local shops. Then we will get a behind the scenes look at the Livestock Exchange Herd Experience. You will learn how cattle are driven and the cowboy traditions. We head back to Grapevine in the afternoon and make a stop at the Vetro Glass Blowing Studio for a demonstration. Dinner will be at a local Italian favorite. Our evening entertainment is a tribute to one of music’s lasting legacies - The Carpenters. They are known for their light, airy melodies and meticulously crafted arrangements that are able to appeal to anyone.

Day Four - December 14 - Our last full day in Texas is upon us. We will spend the morning exploring the Gaylord Texan Resort. A sister property to the Opryland in Nashville, this resort puts up the most spectacular Christmas displays with millions of twinkling lights adorning the trees within their atrium. After enjoying a stroll through the resort and taking in the sights, we head to Ice! a display of your favorite holiday characters made entirely of ice. Traverse through immersive ice tunnels and arches, and step into a colorful display you must see to believe. After Ice! we will enjoy lunch. Then this afternoon we are in for a real treat at the Palace Arts Center, as we take our seats for a Michael Bublé Christmas Concert Tribute. His voice is one of the most recognizable in holiday music. What a day of fun to end our time in Texas. (B,L)
Day Five - December 15 - This morning we head back to Dallas for some last minute touring before boarding our flight for home. Explore the Dallas Arboretum and see their beautiful gardens and displays. Even in December, there is always something in bloom! Lunch will be at the Tea Room before we head to the airport and catch our flight home. What a great week we had and we can’t wait for our next Directions tour.
