Get ready to embark on a whirlwind adventure through Omaha, where we'll explore the flavors and cultures of Germany, Greece, China, Lithuania, Czech/Slovakia, Poland, and Ireland! From savoring authentic German dishes and dancing the night away, to indulging in homemade Greek cuisine and experiencing the flavors of China through tea sampling, our journey promises to be a feast for the senses. With stops at historical landmarks and cultural hotspots, this trip is bound to be an unforgettable exploration of the world right here in the heart of the Midwest!

Sunday, July 14, 2024 – Day 1 

Let's kick off our adventure-packed journey setting off for Omaha, but not before indulging in a delightful independent lunch at the City Market in Kansas City. Picture this: a lively market filled with an array of eateries, fresh produce stands, aromatic baked goods, and even crafts and jewelry to peruse. Then, it's time to dive into history at the Arabia Steamboat Museum. Prepare to be amazed as we explore the replicated wood-planked deck of the Arabia, discovering treasures from the past. Afterward, we'll settle in for four nights of luxury at the Omaha Marriott Regency Hotel. 

 

But wait, the fun doesn't stop there! Get ready to dine and dance the night away at our Germany Dinner extravaganza! Omaha's German American Society will treat us to an authentic meal featuring delicious rouladen, sauerbraten, or jagerschnitzel. And don't forget the entertainment! We'll be joining in on German dancing and singing, led by the spirited German men's choir. It's a lively evening that'll transport us straight to Deutschland, no passport required!

Monday, July 15, 2024 – Day 2 

To kicks off with a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel, followed by an exciting, guided tour of Omaha. From the cobblestone streets of the historic Old Market Entertainment District to the impressive bronze sculptures of Pioneer Courage Park, we'll be soaking in all the sights and sounds of this vibrant city. And of course, there will be plenty of opportunities for independent lunch and shopping in the charming Old Market District. 

 

Next up, we'll embark on a cultural journey around the world without leaving Omaha! From Scotland to Ukraine, we'll be treated to fascinating presentations and delicious treats, all while learning about different customs and traditions. And let's not forget dinner in Greece at St. John's Greek Orthodox Church, where we'll indulge in homemade Greek cuisine and dance the night away in true Mediterranean style.

Tuesday, July 16, 2024 - Day 3 

Today promises even more excitement with visits to Boys Town, the Durham Museum, and a tea tasting at the Tea Smith. Plus, we'll get to savor soul food at Big Mama's Kitchen and experience the flavors of China with a tea sampling from different regions. And what better way to end the day than with a traditional Greek dinner and dance performance?

Wednesday, July 17, 2024 - Day 4 

Now we'll dive into the culinary delights of Lithuania, Czech/Slovakia, and Poland, sampling delicious treats and learning about the rich cultural heritage of each country. And we'll cap off our unforgettable journey with a taste of Ireland at the Brazen Head Irish restaurant, complete with traditional dishes and live folk music. Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime – this is one trip you won't want to miss!

Thursday, July 28, 2024 – Day 5 

As our whirlwind adventure around the globe starts winding down, it's time to bid farewell to the wonders of Omaha and set our sights back toward St. Louis for our final leg of the journey. But fear not, fellow travelers, for we're not done yet! Today promises to be a delightful blend of reflection on our incredible experiences and a few more surprises along the way. 

 

After savoring one last delicious breakfast at the hotel, we'll embark on our journey back to St. Louis.
