Monday July 29, 2024

First off, let's swing by the cute little white house that inspired Grant Wood's famous American Gothic painting. We can even dress up and take some fun photos there!

Then, we'll head to the National Balloon Museum, which is pretty cool 'cause it's the only one like it in the country. You'll learn all about the history of flight and hot air balloons from way back in 1783 to today. After that, we'll chill at West Hill Brewery for some tasty local brews, dinner, and a cool tour of the brewery.

Later, we'll hit up the National Balloon Classic, where you'll see over 100 awesome hot air balloons lighting up the sky. There's live music and entertainment too! We'll crash at the Drury Inn in West Des Moines for the night.

We'll start the day with a visit to the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates to learn about Norman Borlaug and the World Food Prize. Then, we'll wander around Indianola's downtown area, which is full of historic buildings and cute shops.

Lunchtime means we're off to Des Moines Metro Opera HQ for some fancy eats and a private opera performance – how cool is that?

Next, we'll check out The Studio for a honey tasting and then head to Edge of the Woods Raspberry Farm for some berry picking. Back in Des Moines, we'll relax at the Drury Inn before dinner at a local spot.
